Tesla FSD Approved by EU; Netherlands to Launch Full Self-Driving First on March 20

On March 1, 2026 local time, Tesla officially announced that its Full Self-Driving (FSD) system had received regulatory approval from the European Union. The Netherlands will become the world’s first market to launch the feature on March 20, marking the mass production transition of autonomous driving from assisted driving to truly “hands-off” operation.

Elon Musk stated this breakthrough allows users to rest in the vehicle until arrival, and the EU mutual recognition mechanism will accelerate FSD adoption across Europe. Meanwhile, BMW launched its first humanoid robot pilot line at its Leipzig plant in Germany to cut costs and boost efficiency via AI robots. The EU-India Free Trade Agreement took effect, reducing EU passenger car import tariffs to India from up to 110% to 10% gradually, speeding up European luxury vehicles’ entry into India.
